TRAINING PHILOSOPHY: The first rule in being a successful trainer is “train yourself first”. By keeping the bar set high for myself, I am better able to understand my clients and assist them in achieving difficult goals.
Secondly, you must tailor training to suit the needs of each client. More importantly, you must make your clients accountable to you by clearly communicating expectations and guidelines for workouts outside of the regularly scheduled appointment. Even though it means more work for the trainer, it ensures success for the client.
WHY THE FITNESS INDUSTRY:I was an overweight teenager and, at the insistence of my doctor, began eating healthy foods and exercising to lose weight. Once I experienced first-hand what exercise can do for a person’s self esteem and well-being, I decided to pursue a degree in exercise science and turn my passion into my livelihood.
